Technology Hubs

As of September 2026, new Technology Hubs will become centres of innovation and hands-on learning.

Every secondary student in Grand Erie:

  • will have a designated Technology Hub school which they may choose to attend
  • will have access to a broader range of technology courses
  • can pursue credits in all four pathways (apprenticeship, college, university and workplace)
  • have access to both hard technology (e.g. construction, manufacturing, or transportation technology) and soft technology (e.g. computer programming, graphic design, or video production) courses

Students may attend their designated Technology Hub

Each Technology and Innovation Hub school offers a breadth of technology courses which will gradually increase to include all eleven disciplines offered by the Ontario Ministry of Education.



Cayuga Secondary School (Haldimand County)

For students in Haldimand County, Cayuga Secondary School is the desingated Technology and Innovation Hub.

All students registered in the Technology Hub program are required to take a minimum of one technology credit during each academic school year. The following are the 2026-27 technology course offerings at Cayuga:

Broad-based Technology (Grades 9 and 10)

Construction Technology

  • Carpenter, Electrician, Building Inspector

Hairstyling and Aesthetics

  • Hairstylist/barber, Makeup Artist, Spa or Salon Owner

Health Care

  • Nurse, Medical Assistant, Paramedic, Personal Support Worker

Manufacturing Technology

  • CNC Machinist, Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, Quality Control Technician

Transportation Technology

  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Automotive Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic

 

North Park Collegiate and Vocational School (Brant County and City of Brantford)

For students in Brant County and City of Brantford, North Park Collegiate is the designated Technology and Innovation Hub.

All students registered in the Technology Hub program are required to take a minimum of one technology credit during each academic school year. The following are the 2026-27 technology course offerings at North Park:

Broad-based Technology (Grades 9 and 10)

Communications Technology

  • Graphic Designer, Video Producer, Web/Social Media Specialist

Construction Technology

All students registered in the Technology Hub program are required to take a minimum of one technology credit during each academic school year. The following are the 2026-27 technology course offerings at Simcoe Composite:

Broad-based Technology (Grades 9 and 10)

This registration process is only for students who reside outside of a Technology Hub catchment area.

Innovation Hubs

The Technology Hubs will also include Innovation Hubs, like the existing space at North Park, to provide experiential STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) learning for both elementary and secondary students through innovative technologies (e.g. 3D printing, robotics, coding, drones, video creation) with the goal to inspire the next generation of creators, thinkers and problem-solvers.
