Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-26 School Year Opens in November!

Kindergarten classrooms across Grand Erie are vibrant, engaging, inclusive spaces that lay the foundation for literacy and numeracy skills, foster children’s creativity and problem-solving abilities, with educators dedicated to helping learners develop a strong sense of themselves in the world.
On the evening of May 9, more than 100 families joined forces to compete in the Amazing Race: Cobblestone Edition.

Registration

  • Grand Erie’s Kindergarten programs help students get the best possible start. Children are challenged and encouraged to do their very best and build relationships with caring educators who are with them every step of the way.

  • Grand Erie also offers French Immersion as an option. Read more about the French Immersion Kindergarten registration processPlease note: Those interested in French Immersion are invited to submit requests, with spots assigned through a randomized selection process. New students who currently have a sibling in the French Immersion program are guaranteed a spot; however, registration is still required.
  • The deadline to apply to the French Immersion program has now closed.

STEP 2: Are you Eligible for Bussing?

Bussing for Grand Erie students is provided by Student Transportation Services Brant Haldimand Norfolk (STSBHN). STSBHN is a consortium of three school boards providing transportation for eligible students living in Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk counties and the city of Brantford. To find out if your child is eligible for bussing to their ‘home’ school (including their French Immersion home site), please visit the STSBHN eligibility calculator on STSBHN's website.

STEP 3: Preparing to Register Your Child

The following information will be needed when you register your child for school:

  • A document to confirm Canadian Citizenship, and a birth date (one of the following):
    • Canadian Birth Certificate
    • Canadian Citizenship Card
    • Permanent Resident Card
    • Other documents to verify status in Canada
  • Proof of your child’s address, including:
    • 911 civic address (fire number)
    • lot
    • concession
    • county
    • postal code
    • (You can find these on a utility bill, lease or proof of ownership, etc.)
  • Parent contact information, work and home
  • Emergency contact person and telephone number
  • Custody information, if applicable
  • Medical information - a Request for School Assistance in Health Care form, which is provided by the school, must be filled out if medication needs to be administered by school personnel to your child

STEP 4: Register Online or in Person

Online registration for the 2025-26 school year is open now.

STEP 5: Verification of Documents

Please call the school to arrange an appointment to have the following documents verified. (Options for verification include email; Canada Post, in-person or virtual appointments): 

  • A document to confirm Canadian Citizenship, and a birth date (one of the following):
