Dear Families,

We are very excited to have your child(ren) begin their learning in the Virtual Academy. The Grand Erie K-12 Virtual Academy has begun a staggered entry. On September 8 and 9 access to asynchronous learning activities were made available for students and their families on the board website. Please have your child(ren) get started with these activities.

Teachers were able to reach out to many families on Friday. Others will be hearing from their teacher on Monday and Tuesday. The team continued to work throughout the weekend to prepare to welcome students. We understand this is a disappointment for those families who may wait a little longer for classes to begin. Please know that we share your wish to have your children begin their school year as soon as possible.

• If your child attended a Grand Erie School in 2019-2020, they should have a log in and password. If you have misplaced or do not remember or are having problems with the log-in and password, please contact your home school to ensure the password and log in is correct. If your child is in Junior Kindergarten or is new to Grand Erie, then a log-in and password has been created for you. (It will be communicated to parents by the classroom teacher.)
• Requests from families requiring new technology or connectivity have started to be delivered to home schools and will continue throughout the week. Your home school will contact you to arrange a time to pick it up. As you wait for devices to arrive, we hope that your will be able to manage with what you have available at home. Our Virtual Academy teachers will work with you to support your child.
