The new lab is used by students in grades 10, 11, and 12, and the yearbook club. Learners are honing skills in graphic design, website design, 2D and stop-motion animation, audio recording and editing, and a variety of video projects, including music videos, public service announcements and movie trailers. Additionally, each student received an Adobe Creative Cloud license, which grants them access to industry-standard programs and software.

"Students need tools that don't crash when inspiration hits," said Nathan Beyerle, Communication Technology teacher at North Park. "From video editing to graphic design, our Macintosh workstations and Adobe licenses turn student ideas into a polished project."

"I like the Macs because they're fast when you need to load something, and they're easy to use since many of people already have [personal] Apple devices," commented Heidi, a Grade 10 student at North Park.

Speed is a top priority. The new computers are equipped with the latest M4 central processing unit to provide high performance and maximum engagement. While Macs have been used for two decades in Grand Erie, these labs mark the first time that every computer is Mac-based, paving the way for curiosity, unified learning and belonging. Cayuga Secondary School, Simcoe Composite School and Brantford Collegiate Institute also have Mac labs.
