Building a culture of Well-Being and Belonging are key priorities as part of Grand Erie’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan. Grand Erie’s Mental Health team partners with community organizations, educators and administrators across the district to support student mental health and well-being.
Each school year, Grand Erie prepares and acts on a Mental Health and Addictions Action Plan. The 2021-22 Plan lays out four priorities, and activities to support those priorities:
Increase the knowledge and skills of staff to better support learners in developing the capacity to tend to their own well-being.
Provide students with the knowledge, skills and resources to tend to their own mental health & well-being.
Promulgate Suicide Risk Protocol and Non-Suicidal Self-Injurious Behaviours Protocol.
Develop common messaging and resources with Indigenous Education, K-12 Program, Safe & Inclusive Schools, Student Success and Tech.
