Ryerson Heights Elementary School Students Temporarily Transitioned to Remote Learning

Today (Tuesday, March 16), Grand Erie District School Board announced that effective tomorrow, Wednesday, March 17, 2021, students at Ryerson Heights Elementary School will temporarily transition to virtual learning, up to and including March 30, 2021.

Due to the number of high-risk close contacts identified by the health unit, and to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and community members, for administrative reasons, and in consultation with Public Health, the board has made the decision to move students to online learning. Students will transition back to in-person learning on March 31.

During this remote learning period, Ryerson Heights teachers will use D2L Brightspace and other virtual platforms to provide synchronous and asynchronous learning to students throughout the school day.

Ryerson Heights families who previously selected online learning through the board’s Virtual Learning Academy are not impacted by today’s announcement.
