Grand Erie Seeks Input from Community to Shape 2023-24 Budget

WEDNESDAY, APR. 5, 2023

Brantford, Ont. – Grand Erie is asking for input from the public as it develops the board's budget for the 2023-24 school year.

"Hearing from families and community members about what's most important to them is crucial information to have as we make decisions for the upcoming school year," said Susan Gibson, Chair, on behalf of the Board of Trustees. "We hope this process of consultation will allow for that feedback for the budget to be heard and put into meaningful action to ensure the best outcomes for our learners."

The 2023-24 budget survey is now open, with the opportunity to submit responses until April 21. Grand Erie hopes to hear from students, staff members, parents/caregivers, neighbours and other community members as it identifies priorities and allocates funding. The budget will be presented to trustees for final review and input during the board meeting in June.

Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 26,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand, and Norfolk as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
