Supporting Students with Special Education Needs

As previously announced by the province, all schools across the province will be pivoting to virtual learning after the Spring Break starting on April 19.

Provisions are being made for in-person support for students with special education needs who cannot be accommodated through remote learning. In Grand Erie. This includes students in fully contained special education classes (MH, ASD, Life Skills) and other students whose needs require a return to in-person learning.

Staff are working to support the transition back to school for these students. Grand Erie school administrators or other staff members will be contacting families of students with complex and pervasive special education needs on Monday, April 19 to review remote learning supports for these students. Any student for whom it is deemed essential that in-person learning is required will return on Wednesday, April 21 at the earliest.
