Grand Erie Reaches Tentative Local Agreement with Designated Early Childhood Educators

Grand Erie District School Board is pleased to announce that it has reached a tentative local agreement with its Designated Early Childhood Educators’ (DECE) bargaining unit represented by the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO).

“It’s wonderful we’ve reached a tentative deal – our first one locally,” said Greg Anderson, Chair of the Board. “We look forward to working in partnership with our DECE’s. They play a tremendous role in helping our early learners. As a Board, we greatly appreciate and admire their work. They make a difference every day in the lives of our students.”

Details of the local agreement will not be released. DECE members will be voting soon on the settlement for the three-year contract (September 1, 2019 to August 31, 2022).

Grand Erie District School Board represents nearly 18,000 students in 58 elementary schools and more than 7,300 students in 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the Counties of Brant, Haldimand, and Norfolk as well as secondary students from Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. With a dedicated staff of more than 2,500, Grand Erie remains committed to its goal of Success for Every Student.
