School 2019 Offers Students a Chance to Get Ahead, Catch Up or Take Part in a
Co-op Placement
Registration is now underway for Summer School 2019. Courses for students in Grades 6-12 will be offered this July through Grand Erie District School Board. Students can earn a full credit, change to a different pathway, recover an unsuccessful course or improve marks.
“Summer School offers a different kind of learning environment for students, with smaller class sizes and a condensed schedule to accelerate achievement,” said Denise Martins, Superintendent of Education, responsible for the Secondary Program. “This year, there’s a wide range of course offerings, so it’s a wonderful opportunity for students looking to get ahead or to get back on track.”
In-class summer school locations are hosted at Brantford Collegiate Institute and Vocational School and Hagersville Secondary School. Bus transportation is available for interested students. Other learning opportunities during Summer School include: eLearning, co-op programs and dual credit courses. Summer school students receive the same credit value they would during the school year. Full credit courses run for four weeks.
Reach ahead credits are available for Grade 7-8 students. Two-week or four-week literacy and numeracy courses are available for students in Grades 6-7. Registration is completed through the student’s home school.
Summer school begins Tuesday, July 2 and ends Friday, July 26. For information, including registration forms, please visit this page.
