For approved Recruitment Services Providers (Agents) or for overseas schools, Grand Erie can accommodate groups of middle-school students (Gr 6-8, ages 11-13 yrs) for a short-term cultural and English language learning program where spaces in the schools permit.

The timeframes of such programs can be for a minimum of 10 school days (2 wks) to a maximum of 20 school days (4 wks) and can take place in the Canadian Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer.

A group size will be limited to a minimum of 15-30 students, and it is advisable to give at least 6 months’ notice of an interest in bringing a group to Grand Erie.

Summer Camp

During a summer camp program in Canada’s Summer (July), visiting students will attend morning classes together with the assistance of several Canadian Ambassadors (buddies) to assist the teacher with schoolwork and outside activities. A half-day will be devoted to learning ESL and a half day will consist of a range of curriculum that is planned to suit the needs and interests of the group.

School Integration Camp

During the academic year (Sep-Jun), international students will integrate into and attend regular classrooms on a daily basis and will participate in all regular school activities alongside English-speaking Grand Erie students. This integration provides for a strong English-immersion experience for international students.

Cultural Activities

In addition to the in-school programs described above, visiting students will have opportunities to participate in a variety of after-school cultural activity options, for example, movies, bowling, local attractions, museums, hockey game, horse farm, maple syrup production, etc.

Also, full-day excursions will be planned on the weekends to major tourist attractions. Some options, for example, are Toronto’s CN Tower, Canada’s Wonderland Theme Park, Castle Loma, Royal Ontario Museum, Ontario Science Centre, Aquarium, Eaton’s Shopping Centre, etc. and Niagara Falls with its world famous Canadian and American waterfalls, Journey Behind the Falls experience, the towering Ferris Wheel, Go-Karts, Butterfly and Bird Sanctuaries, Niagara Collections Outlet Mall, etc.

Homestay services will be provided by a reputable and experienced homestay provider with whom Grand Erie works closely and students will be placed 2-3 in each Canadian English-speaking household.

All students in the group must arrive in and depart from Brantford, Ontario at the same time and be accompanied while in the Grand Erie region by an adequate number of mature and responsible chaperones.

There will be an airport transfer service provider by a coordinator and a welcome orientation session and farewell party will be planned for the group.
