Admissions and Fees

The Grand Erie District School Board welcomes all international students to study in its schools. Whether you are a new student to Grand Erie or a returning student, you will find information on admissions criteria, how to apply, and the applicable fees and refund policy in this section.


Admissions Criteria

Acceptance and placement into one of Grand Erie’s schools will be determined by the following criteria:

  1. A completed International Student Application and Student Participation Agreement.
  2. Payment of the non-refundable Application Fee
  3. An acceptable academic record as indicated on the school transcripts/records such that the international student is likely to be successful.
  4. Any level of English; however, if you are aiming to graduate high school, you should attend multiple years to build adequate English proficiency.
  5. Availability of seats in any given classroom or grade level.
  6. A homestay address in the boundary of the school to be attended.
  7. An identified custodian for students under the age of 18 years of age and under.
  8. Upon arrival:
    1. a valid passport, study permit, and visa (if applicable)
    2. Grand Erie District School Board Letter of Acceptance
    3. Official school transcripts/records in English for current and previous year. If translated to English, please notarize.
    4. Proof of Canadian health insurance for the student while in Canada
    5. Up-to-date immunization record. Does not need to be translated.
    6. Notarized custodial documents (one by parent and one by custodian)
