Dear Grand Erie Families,

We are excited to kick off the 2026-27 school year on September 8, 2026. Together, we are ready to learn, lead and inspire.

To help you start the new school year, we have information and links to support a smooth and exciting transition.

We Lead Forward: A New Strategic Plan for 2026-30

The Grand Erie District School Board has launched a new strategic plan, We Lead Forward, to serve as a roadmap that builds on our strengths and guides how we move forward together. Read all about it.

2026-27 School Year Calendar

The full school-year calendar is available here, with separate calendars for elementary and secondary schools. Please contact your school directly for any school-specific questions about activities or schedules.

Returning students do not need to register unless they are changing schools within Grand Erie. For families new to Grand Erie or who have moved within Grand Erie, please visit our Registration page for details. The Grand Welcome Centre is a place where all students new to Canada, entering the Ontario school system for the first time, and their families are welcomed into the Grand Erie community.

Parent/Caregiver Portal

Stay connected and informed! We’ve introduced a communications portal designed to help parents and caregivers stay connected and informed about their children's education. Click here to access the portal, get set up and browse frequently asked questions.

Educational Resources for Families

Looking for ways to support your learner at home? Grand Erie has a host of educational resources to support additional math, literacy and technology exploration outside the classroom. For elementary families, the parent/caregiver handbook will provide an overview to support their child.

Mental Health and Well-being

As students return to classrooms and learning spaces, supporting their mental health and well-being remains a priority. School Mental Health Ontario offers a range of resources and supports to help students and families navigate the school year with confidence.

Artificial Intelligence in Grand Erie

Grand Erie is taking a proactive stance to ensure the safe, effective and responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in the classroom. Our goal is to use GenAI tools to complement traditional learning methods and empower students with digital literacy skills and a strong understanding of how to use these technologies safely and ethically. Discover our guiding principles and plan for responsible use.
