The seeds for a successful high school football program are planted in the spring. Three programs got a glimpse of the future in a mini-junior (Grade 9 and 10) jamboree on Wednesday in Delhi.  

The Delhi District Raiders program welcomed both Simcoe Composite and Valley Heights for timed scrimmages with coaches on the field, giving players a taste of what’s to come at the varsity level in a few months.  

“This is a really fun day to get kids out and teach the game so they understand football,” said Delhi coach Marshall Greenham. It’s a privilege to have the teams here. With football, you need to practise as often as possible to get down the plays and understand the systems we’re trying to install as coaches.”
