For 2025-26 school year, Grand Erie District School Board secondary schools have shifted from a Student Learning Support Day to Flexible Periods to offer students an additional opportunity to demonstrate their learning based on the course material covered to date.

Flexible Periods will take place for all secondary classes between preliminary reports (March 1 to 30) and mid-term reports (April 27 to May 1), and will be scheduled by individual teachers. These dates will be shared directly with students and families.

Students can use this time to complete or submit previously assigned work or to plan with teachers for credit recovery in current courses.

Student transportation will run and attendance is still taken as any other school day.
