Women's History Month recognizes the achievements, leadership and contributions of women and girls in Canada and around the world. It also invites us to examine whose stories are centred, whose are missing, and how gender intersects with race, Indigeneity, disability, class, faith, language and other identities.
In 1992, the Government of Canada designated October as Women's History Month. The month provides an opportunity to celebrate the women and girls who have shaped Canada's history while continuing to broaden whose stories and contributions are recognized.
