Terry Fox National School Run Day

In 1980, Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope, setting out to run across Canada to raise awareness and funds for cancer research. After running more than 5,000 kilometres, Terry was forced to stop when his cancer returned. His courage, determination and vision inspired a movement that continues across Canada today.

On September 28, 2026, schools across Canada will participate in Terry Fox National School Run Day to continue Terry's legacy and raise funds for cancer research. Schools across Grand Erie will have opportunities to learn about Terry's story, participate in school activities and help carry his vision forward.
