Grand Erie Asks Parents to Commit to Learning Model for 2022-23 School Year
WEDNESDAY, MAR. 30, 2022
Brantford, Ont. – Grand Erie is asking families in the school district who want their children enrolled in online learning next school year to declare their choice by April 13, 2022.
The board is sharing a declaration form with all families this week, along with information about how that choice impacts courses and extracurricular activity for elementary and secondary students. The declaration for online learning, or the default option to continue with in-person learning, commits the student to that choice for the duration of the 2022-23 school year.
Students not currently enrolled in Grand Erie schools, including those in Six Nations or Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation schools, that are moving to Grand Erie schools should use the declaration form, with a deadline of April 20, 2022.
What do you need to do?
- You must declare your choice for online learning through the declaration form by April 13, 2022. (Declaration form address: onlinelearningdeclaration.granderie.ca).
- If your child is already learning in-person and you intend to continue that into the next school year, then no action is required.
- If your elementary child is enrolled in online learning now, and you wish to return to in-person learning in the fall of 2022, then no action is required.
- Secondary students moving from online to in-person learning for September 2022 should connect with their home school to verify enrolment and select courses.
- For students in self-contained classrooms currently learning online, you must complete a declaration. The declaration form provides details on online learning expectations for these students.
- Families who are unable to complete the declaration form online may contact their home school for assistance.
This process will help Grand Erie make appropriate and efficient staffing decisions for the upcoming school year to continue to build a culture of learning, well-being and belonging to inspire every learner.
Grand Erie continues to strongly support in-person learning as the best option for students.
