Reasons to get involved with School Council

  • Gives you as a parent or caregiver an opportunity to talk openly and collaborate with the Principal, Vice-Principal, Teacher representative and Student Council to learn about what goes on in the school, school board and the Ministry of Education.
  • School Council gives you a chance to ask questions, have your concerns addressed, and share your ideas about making SCS the best place for students to learn and grow.
  • Meetings are 4 times a year on in the SCS learning commons.
  • Participants can come and go as they please, there is no need to commit to every meeting. We are always looking to increase our membership, and everyone is welcome!

Can't make a meeting but would like a concern addressed?

Please email our office coordinator Megan Allen at megan.allen@granderie.ca or the School Council Secretary 2024/2025 Sheila Porteous at Sheila.porteous@ymail.com and one of them will confidentially take it forward to the meeting.
