SCS students benefiting from McKiee grants

A special presentation at Simcoe Composite School included Marleen Van De Wiele, head of library services, Trish Misner, the liaison for the Norfolk Community Foundation, Jen Ippolito, the SCS principal and Jane Cowan, daughter of the late Jay McKiee as the foundation presented a Jay McKiee Capital Grant to the school for iPads, keyboards and Apple Pencils.

Students at Simcoe Composite School have received a classroom set of iPads, keyboards and Apple Pencils to help encourage digital learning, and six SCS grads were awarded scholarships as local grants recently were awarded.

The grants were from the annual Jay McKiee Capital Grant program, honouring the late Jay McKiee, who was also graduate of Simcoe Composite and a philanthropist who has had an enduring impact on his community, especially supporting and uplifting local youth.
