Brantford, Ont. – The Grand Erie District School Board will begin the process to renew its strategic plan, Leading Forward 2026-30, to support learner success over the next four years. From April 1 to 15, all members of the Grand Erie community are invited to provide their feedback through a survey. The survey is anonymous and voluntary.
“On behalf of the Board of Trustees, it’s our collective responsibility to establish a strategic plan to set long-term priorities and goals,” says Brian Doyle, Chair of the Board. “We value the input from a broad range of voices across Grand Erie to ensure the strategic plan reflects student and staff priorities as we lead forward.”
Grand Erie’s current strategic plan, A Bold New Vision for Grand Erie 2021-26, served as a blueprint focused on advancing Learning, Well-being, and Belonging for all learners and has highlighted progress in achievement, and expanded mental health and well-being supports for learners across the district.
“As a district, we’re committed to learning leading, and inspiring together demonstrating high expectations, measurable progress and meaningful learning outcomes,” says Dr. JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education. “As we look to the future, the newly developed plan will be more than a document, it will act as a roadmap representing our collective priorities to further elevate excellence in academics and innovation, that is responsive to the needs of our learners.”
Survey input will be combined with input focus group participant feedback to inform a draft plan that will be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval.
Dr. Roberto adds, “Over the past five years, we’ve strengthened and improved literacy, math achievement and graduation results, deepened student engagement, invested in staff capacity, enhanced mental health and well-being supports, and taken bold steps to create learning environments where every student feels seen, listened to, and inspired to succeed. These accomplishments encompass the enduring leadership and dedication of all staff, schools and departments who make this possible, and it reflects the care, commitment, and collaboration that define our system. The renewed strategic plan will serve as the foundation for our learning journey as we move forward together and collectively promote a culture of life-long learning in a rapidly changing world.”
