Link Crew

DDSS Event
Link Crew is a student-centered leadership and mentor program designed to promote inclusivity and create a smoother transition for students as they enter secondary school. Selected school staff are extensively trained to become Link Crew Coordinators, which certifies them to train senior students to become ‘Link Leaders’ in their school community. The process focuses heavily on team building/cooperative skill development, communication skills, supporting each other through situational scenarios, and participation in other confidence boosting activities. Link Leaders run Grade 9 orientation and provide academic and social support throughout the entire year, resulting in more positive experiences and greater academic success for all.

Sci-Soc Club

Sci-Soc is Delhi’s Science Society! Sci-Soc members participate in after-school labs and activities related to biology, chemistry, physics and engineering. We are often involved in larger projects, like performing science demonstrations for visiting Gr. 8 students and creating competitions like the Lab Coat Challenge for Gr. 6 students.

Sci-Soc members have the opportunity to participate in science-related field trips like Battle STEM at the University of Guelph. The Robotics Team is a specialized branch of Sci-Soc which meets from September to November to prepare for the Oxford Invitational Youth Robotics Challenge.

Typically, Sci-Soc meets after-school once a week from October to December and from February to May. Any interested student is welcome to join Sci-Soc at any point throughout the year. For more information, please speak to Ms. Sawyer or Mr. Van Haecke.
