February 20th Updates

Good afternoon, 

Another short but busy week comes to an end here at PES! 

Our caught being kind campaign will continue until March Break! It has been wonderful to see so many examples of kindness across our school community. 

This week our attendance winners are Asra, Ian and Spencer. Awesome job! 

A few reminders and updates: 

Family Math Newsletters: The latest Family Math Newsletters for Primary, Junior, and Intermediate are below in important links. These newsletters offer fun and practical ways to explore math at home and strengthen the connection between school and family learning.  

Math Support: TVO Learn Mathify offers free 1:1 online math help for students in grades 4–12. To create a student account, parents/caregivers will need their child’s OEN (Ontario Education Number), which can be found on report cards or by reaching out to your child’s teacher. 

Pink Shirt Day: Next Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day! Students are encouraged to wear pink to stand against bullying. More information can be found here. 

Raising Digital Awareness: Families are invited to attend Raising Awareness about Digital Dangers with guest speaker Margot Denommé on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 6:00–7:15 p.m. at Brantford Collegiate Institute. A registration link is included on the flyer. Please see the attachment below.

Kindergarten Registration: Kindergarten registration is open. Families can visit: https://granderie.ca/kindergarten for more information. 

Attendance Counts: Let's March into Success! For the month of March, there will be a class challenge for the class with the least amount of lates. We know mornings can be busy, and we truly appreciate all that families do to help children arrive at school each day. Being on time helps students feel comfortable, connected, and ready to enjoy learning with their classmates. As part of our March Into Success focus, we are encouraging positive attendance habits, as every day truly counts. To support a calm and focused start to the day, we have moved our announcements to later in the day so learning can begin right away in classrooms. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
