Brantford, Ont. — The Grand Erie District School Board is excited to host two interactive Education Week events showcasing Excellence in Motion. On May 4 and 5, these events will feature interactive booths and sessions with engaging opportunities for the entire family.
"Education Week gives us the opportunity to celebrate public education, student achievement and teaching excellence throughout Grand Erie. We’re proud to highlight how employees and schools are actively supporting student achievement and helping them find success in their chosen pathway," says Dr. JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education. "This year's theme, Excellence in Motion, highlights the continuous growth and innovation across our system, and the momentum we are building as we launch a new Multi-Year Strategic Plan."
Each session will offer interactive learning opportunities centered on topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics Club, Words Matter, Kickstart to Kindergarten, Math and Literacy and more. Information booths will also be available, providing details on key resources and supports, including the Grand Welcome Centre, Mental Health and Well-Being, Indigenous Education, the Grand Erie Parent Involvement Committee (GEPIC), Transportation and more.
"These events bring learning to life by connecting classroom experiences with real-world applications," says Lisa Munro, Associate Director of Curriculum and Achievement. "By sharing these experiences with families and friends, students build confidence to explore their interests and develop a sense of belonging within their school communities."
The Excellence in Motion events are open to all families and community members. Participants can find complete details and register to attend online.
