Guidance Department

Guidance and Student Success work together to help students transition from elementary school, into secondary school. We work on academic and life skills that allow students to be as successful as possible. When students reach grade 10, they begin to focus on career exploration, through the careers class. In Grade 11 and 12, we work to create an exit plan, for after high school. To meet these goals, we offer:

  • Help bridging the gap between home and school
  • Transition support from grade 8 to 9
  • Individual career counselling and Individual Pathway Planning (IPP)
  • Information about college, university, apprenticeship and workplaces
  • Timetable planning, changes, and special placements
  • Assistance with applications for postsecondary pathways and financial assistance programs
  • Referrals to support services
