Grand Erie Writers Recognized in Laurier Stedman Competition

Seven Grand Erie students have been recognized in the 2024 Laurier Stedman Prize competition.
Every two years, students across the region have the opportunity to submit an original short story to be considered to win the prize, which awards funds to the top six writers and a merchandise prize for the top 10. Submissions are evaluated by a jury of Laurier faculty members, staff, students as well as past Laurier Stedman Prize winners.

Second Place - $2,500 Each

- The Bear Kit by Rose Moore, Grand Erie Learning Alternatives, Grade 12
Third Place - $1,500
- Washed Away by Harper North, Paris District High School, Grade 12
- Eve by Sophie Vandenbrink, Pauline Johnson Collegiate, Grade 12
Runners Up
- Train Goers by Darwyn Dashawetz, Paris District High School, Grade 9
- The Art of Living by Keira Gayowsky, Brantford Collegiate Institute, Grade 12
- Mirror by Bianka Kruschat, Paris District High School, Grade 12

2017 HIGH SCHOOL REGISTRATION
Registration packages have been delivered to most elementary schools.
If you are from Notre Dame or St. Patrick's, please drop by the Guidance Office to pick up your registration packages.
