Our Council of the Claw has been busy leading exciting school-wide events over the past two months — and they’re just getting started! The council is made up of enthusiastic students from Grades 6 to 8 who are eager to take on leadership roles and help make our school a more fun and connected place to be.
In September, students across the school took part in a Rock, Paper, Scissors Showdown! Students challenged each other throughout the day, earning bracelets (or necklaces from teachers) with every win. The class with the most bracelets at the end of the day took the victory. Congratulations to Mrs. Mussi’s class, our Primary Division winners, and to Mrs. Black’s class, our Junior/Intermediate champions!
In October, the Council hosted a pumpkin decorating contest, a spooky haunted house, and a Halloween dance. The creative energy was amazing! Mrs. Mussi’s class took the win for the Primary Division with their clever candy apple pumpkin, while Mrs. Black’s class won for the Junior/Intermediate Division with their fantastic Gary the Snail pumpkin from SpongeBob SquarePants.
The haunted house was a huge success, offering both a less-spooky and a more-spooky option — and even a chance to enjoy the eerie atmosphere from the outside! The Council members worked hard to design, decorate, and host the event, and their efforts truly paid off.
We are so proud of our Council of the Claw for their creativity, teamwork, and leadership. Stay tuned for more fun events and challenges coming in November!
