Dunnville Secondary School
The Grand Erie District School Board’s 2025-26 Grade 3, 6, and 9 Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) and Grade 10 Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) assessment results show year-over-year gains to close the learning gap with provincial results.
The five-year trend across Grand Erie shows significant improvements in primary, junior and intermediate mathematics and OSSLT applied results:
“Our year-over-year progress is a testament to the hard work happening daily in classrooms, rooted in responsive instructional practices and a deep understanding of each learner,” said Dr. JoAnna Roberto, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Education Officer. “These results are promising and they will continue to inform our path forward for further improvement as guided by our Annual Learning and Operating Plan.”
Noted Roberto, “The strategies to support this work include coherent, accountable professional learning focused on curriculum implementation with fidelity and math content learning, increased instructional math coaches working with classroom teachers, and the use of data-Informed practice.
Lisa Munro, Associate Director, Curriculum and Student Achievement, said, “School teams engage in professional learning and use diagnostic and formative assessments and resources aligned with the curriculum to support and improve student outcomes.”

Roberto notes, “We will continue to focus on instructional strategies for individual student growth and achievement. The 2026-27 Annual Learning and Operating Plan is responsive and includes specific strategies to improve learning results in early literacy, math and graduation pathways.”
