What Do We Do?

The Guidance/Student Services department aims to help students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to learn effectively, work cooperatively and productively with diverse groups, and set and achieve educational and career goals. We handle various tasks such as scheduling, university and college applications, graduation planning, career counseling, personal counseling, new student registration, student record maintenance, liaison with feeder schools, annual commencement ceremonies and more. If you have any questions or uncertainties, Guidance is the place to start!

Arranging An Appointment

To see a counsellor, please visit the Guidance Office to request an appointment. Our Guidance Secretary, Colleen Armstrong, will review your schedule and the counsellor's availability to arrange a convenient time for you. While we prefer appointments to be scheduled in advance, we understand that emergencies occur. If you need immediate assistance, come directly to the Guidance Office. For appointments with our support staff, please see the Guidance Secretary.

Keeping You Informed

Our primary method of communication is through morning announcements, so make sure to listen each day. These announcements are also posted daily on the screen in the front foyer.  Important information is also shared via our social media pages, Brightspace, as well as on bulletin boards inside and outside the Guidance Office.  Regularly checking these sources will keep you informed about important updates, upcoming presentations, and other events. Occasionally, we may visit your classes or invite you to assemblies and meetings for presentations on various topics.
