A Message From The Principal

Welcome to Valley Heights Secondary School - Home of the Bears.

VHSS is a small to mid-sized school depending on your frame of reference.  With 600 students on our register we are a unique school which offers a variety of unique programs to support our students in achieving their future career destinations no matter which one that they may choose.  We offer a full academic program delivered through day school, night school and e-learning.  We offer a full complement of technological education options from auto to hospitality for students who are good with their hands.  Additionally students take advantage of our healthy COOP and OYAP programs that allow students work in the field and receive credits.  Our Turning Point program offers another alternative for students to gain employment skills and credits in a more one on one setting.

In terms of extracurricular activities, VHSS students can select from a wide range of activities whether it is interschool sports, visual arts, music or drama. Our students have have hosted and participated in the Sears Drama Festival annually. Paticipation in many sports occurs with particularly popular sports at VHSS being Varsity Football, basketball, volleyball, hockey, and soccer. Our fans are resilient and their spirit never wanes when it comes to our teams as evidenced by our 2nd place finish at the 2008 Fair for Special Effects.  When our teams make the finals the Bear's fans usually out-roar even the mighty Sabres in their own gymnasium.

Valley Heights staff and students pride themselves on their rural roots and that fact that we are a respecful and caring community. To be a Bear means to work hard at all that you do and give back to others.
