Grand Erie Reaches Final Labour Agreement with ETFO DECEs

rand Erie District School Board is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with the Elementary Federation of Teachers of Ontario (ETFO) Grand Erie Designated Early Childhood Educators (DECEs). The agreement was ratified by the Board on March 25, 2024 and is effective through to 2026.

ETFO DECE ratified the agreement on March 22. The agreement is for permanent and occasional DECEs in Grand Erie, representing about 190 educators.

“We thank ETFO for their collaboration on completing this agreement,” said Susan Gibson, Chair of the Grand Erie District School Board. “Grand Erie now has agreements in place with all union employee groups, and together, we can continue to build on our vision to learn, lead and inspire.”

“We are excited to complete this agreement in partnership with ETFO, and to now move forward together over the upcoming years with labour certainty with all employee groups,” said JoAnna Roberto, Director of Education at Grand Erie. “Our thanks to all involved in the negotiations.”

Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 27,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. With a dedicated staff of more than 2,900, Grand Erie is committed to learning, leading, and inspiring.
