Message from the Principal

Welcome to École Dufferin's website.

As always, our aim is to provide you with information, give you a sense of what École Dufferin and its community is all about, and post current topics of interest. Your child's class newsletter as well as our monthly newsletter is available for you on the website, a monthly calendar of events, and an opportunity to link to the Dufferin Parent Council (DPC). 

We are particularly excited about using the website to save a number of trees! Our commitment to sharing electronically as much as possible made a HUGE difference last year in the amount of paper used. You will once again receive a tear-off sheet asking if you want a paper copy of the newsletters. We strongly encourage you to choose this option for the sake of the environment, the cost of producing so many documents, and the time needed to copy and disburse newsletters.

Our school is extremely lucky to have over 100 parents who volunteer their time and energy to support students at Dufferin. We have a very active and effective School Council that recognizes how important it is to be a part of their child's education in a variety of ways. We appreciate not only their fundraising efforts but the advisory role they play as well. Your comments are always welcome and encouraged.

Education is all about change. You will always see us try new ways of doing business, as we strive to make your child's education relevent, timely, rewarding, and exciting. Like any experience, there are always bumps along the way.  We base our practice and procedures on sound pedagogical theory, the educational resources available to us, and tailored to the needs of the students we have.

As we work towards preparing your child to be an independent citizen of the future, this quotation, one my favourites,  says it all,
