Our Environment

As you know, we are becoming more "eco-friendly" here at Dufferin School. One of our biggest efforts this year is to reduce the amount of paper that is used by teachers and students. We are happy to have a few teachers spearheading efforts as they supervise the Environment Club - students taking the initiative to assist each classroom in recycling. A significant grant from ETFO (Elementary Teachers) and school funds has enabled us to have individual recycling bins for EACH class.

Students can tell you what type of recycling goes in what type of bin! (Just ask them at home....they will explain!!)

Next year (2009/2010) our School Council will be supporting our efforts to reduce/eliminate the use of plastic water bottles. More on that initiative later.

We are also lucky to be included in a Board-wide Pilot program about recycling. The partnership includes five elementary schools, one high school, the City, and our Board facilities.
