Harriet Tubman Comes to École Dufferin

Students and staff, as well as visitors, were "wowed" with the performance of Leslie McCurdy in "The Spirit of Harriet Tubman".  Ms. McCurdy wrote and performs a solo journey through the life of Harriet Tubman, from aged six to an elderly woman. We are mesmerized by her rendition of young Harriet being sold out to slavery at the tender age of six, toiuched to the core when she describes her many journeys along the Underground Railway to help free over 300 slaves, and her humanitarian efforts as she aged.

Leslie's message of conquering fear was inspiring, moving, and always positive. Thanks so much for your talent and inspiration.
