Dufferin Parent Council November blurb
We had a wonderfully lively, passionate discussion at our last Parent Council meeting about our plans for the coming year. A brainstorming session was held and 14 different potential purchases and activities were proposed. At our next meeting on November 18th we will make final decisions about which of these ideas to pursue – I’m sure the discussion will be even MORE passionate!
For an idea of what goes on at our meetings, please see our Minutes on the website under “About Us” and then “School Council”. You will find a list of our executive as well as the various sub-committees that we have. There is also information on the website about a Bursary that your child may apply for.
Please remember that ALL parents are invited to attend meetings, even if you are not an “official” voting member. You are welcome to take part in the discussions and sit on sub-committees, or just sit back and see what goes on. These general meetings are held in the Library at 6:30pm, and babysitting is provided. We’ve had a great turnout for our first two meetings, and we’d love to see you there!

Dufferin Parent Council Update for February
Our next big event will be a Turkey Bingo, planned for 6:30-8:30 Wednesday March 24th . For those of you who haven’t been to one of these ridiculously fun events before, the prizes for each winning bingo card is a turkey (just in time for Easter!). There will also be a penny auction, so if you or your business have any items you would like to donate we would really appreciate it. Please contact Melissa Betts at melissa_betts@hotmail.com. Monies collected will go towards our very exciting Revitalization project. See you there! (Sorry – no children allowed as the school holds a gambling license for this event and only persons over 18 will be allowed to be in the gym.)
Don’t forget, you are ALWAYS welcome to attend out Parent Council Meetings to hear what’s going on and give your two cents. Our next meeting is Wednesday March 10, at 6:30 in the Library. Children ARE welcome to attend and there is free babysitting.
