Thursday April 25

  • The Café is open for business! We have a variety of fresh baked homemade cookies, delicious deli sandwiches, an assortment of beverages and jumbo freezies. Come down to room 100 during the lunch hour to purchase a tasty treat. Tomorrow we will be serving Tuscan chicken soup with fresh baked buns.
  • All baseball girls: we have practice Friday at lunch outside. Bring appropriate clothing for weather and your baseball glove! Meet at the bleachers by the soccer field at the start of lunch.
  • Please excuse the boys and girls soccer teams at 12:35 today for their games at Holy Trinity. The bus will leave at 12:45. GO BEARS!
  • Boys soccer team see Ms. Groh in 113 at lunch for a schedule for tomorrow.
  • All track & field permission sheets are due on Friday. No form – no participation.
  • Track practice after school tomorrow.
  • The cafeteria will be closed May 1 and May 14.

  • Sand Hill Park is hiring summer students! Gate attendant and food booth worker are the positions currently open. The start date of these positions begins June 22 and ends September 2.  Applicants need to be 15 years of age or older to apply. Please send your resume to sandhill@kwic.com
  • The canteen at the Langton soccer field is looking for volunteers to help out throughout the summer. Anyone interested can email Sue Wall from the Langton parent council at wall_susie@hotmail.com. Games begin tomorrow so they need people asap. This would be a great way to get a lot of your community hours finished up!!!
  • Langton Public School is holding their Track and Field meet on May 22nd (rain date - 23rd) and is hoping to get 8 - 10 volunteers to help out for the day. Your parents/guardians will need to excuse you from school for the day and you are responsible for transportation. If you are able to help, please sign up in guidance.
  • There will be a meeting for all cheerleaders and anyone interested in seeing what cheer is all about on Tuesday in room 208 at the beginning of lunch. We will talk about the possibility of doing a few practices in May to try some new things and set some direction for Norfolk Fair in the fall. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting and practices – anyone who isn’t currently on the team will just need a signed permission form which will be available at the meeting. Questions?     • Please consider signing up for the Virtual Spring University Fair. This will run May 22 from 5 – 7pm. Representatives will attend from each University to tell you about programs and answer any questions.

  • French for the Future is excited to announce the opening of applications for the National Ambassador Youth Forum (FNJA) 2024 edition! This transformative program is set to showcase the benefits of bilingualism in an inspiring 6-day adventure in Edmonton from August 4 to 9. The participants will then become ambassadors for French in their community during the following school year.
    • Applications are open to students nationwide who are currently in Grade 10 or 11 and enrolled in a French program. Interested students are encouraged to register before May 6, 2024.

  • The Hidden Valley Café is open for business! Today, we are serving delicious meatball subs served with coleslaw. We also have deli sandwiches, a variety of cookies, beverages and jumbo freezies for sale. See you in room 100 during the lunch hour.

  • Listen up Bears! Your girls soccer team beat SCS last night with a final score of 6 to 1! We scored 6 goals! 3 of those goals were delivered by Julia Kenline, Ava Reimer got one and the sister duo, Mya and Hanna Elliott both got one each! Unbelievable! We will have practice on Wednesday after school.

Monday April 22

  • Track & Field practice Tuesday & Friday after school.
  • Track & Field sign up will end on Wednesday. If you would like to help, the sign-up list is also in the gym. All athletes and helpers must hand in permission form located in the gym.
  • Reminder – Girls Baseball practice at lunch in the gym. Make sure you hand in your permission forms!!
  • Prom meeting today at lunch if you can make it – having a quick check in!
  • The Routes to Roots Film Festival is happening in one week from today. Valley students are invited to attend a viewing of Alfred Hitchcocks “Rear Window” as well as a couple short student films. The cost is $15.00 and includes the movie, bus ride to the strand, popcorn and a drink. Stop by to get/return permission forms from Mrs. Mackenzie or Mrs. Veldhuis. Payment can be made at school cash online. Those who have already returned their forms, be sure to give us your drink order.
