Strong Attendance, Strong Learning

April is a critical month for elementary school attendance. Consistent attendance ensures students maintain academic progress, strengthen routines, and stay connected as learning builds toward year‑end outcomes. Every school day matters—regular attendance supports student success, well‑being, and a strong finish to the school year.

Congratulations to our attendance winners from last week:
Link C., Aubrey M., Sami S., Dominic G., Rose D.

Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is a day to learn to about Mexican history and celebrate culture. It remembers a time when the Mexican army showed bravery and teamwork at the Battle of Puebla a long time ago. We wish our students and families a Happy Cinco de Mayo, filled with learning, respect, and curiosity about the world around us!

BADMINTON

The Intermediate Badminton team attended the tournament on April 14th at Tollgate. Andy, Campbell, Ahed, Matthew, Owen, Nicholas, Andrew, TJ, Taliyah, Evelyn, Madilyn, Brayah, Savanna, Liz, Ami, and Amelia had a great day! A few students participated in a sport for the first time this year! All of the athletes can be proud of themselves for going outside their comfort zone and trying their best. Shout out to Ahed who made it 4 rounds in Boys Singles and Matthew and Owen who made it 3 rounds in Boys Doubles! Way to go Knights. - Mrs. Hames
BADMINTON From start to finish, our Junior Badminton team showed positive attitudes, great sportsmanship, and supported one another throughout the day. That’s something to be really proud of. We had some strong performances as well. A special congratulations goes to Aubrey and Shea, who advanced all the way to Championship Night—an incredible achievement. But what made this team special wasn’t just results—it was the effort, respect, and teamwork shown by every single player. I’d like to recognize all of them: Lochlan, Veyron, Sophie, Violet, Shea, Aubrey, Colton, Ben, Novella, Xavion, Kyliee, Josh, Wyatt, Nathan, Amylah, and Everlee. Thank you for representing our school so well. You’ve set a great example of what it means to compete with pride and character. - Mr. Sharma

Kindergarten Registration

Spread the word...if you or someone you know has a child born in 2022, they can start Kindergarten in September 2026 and registration is still open

Police Checks

If you think you might be interested in volunteering for a year-end trip and are in need of a police check (including a vulnerable sector search), please contact Mrs. Perritt as soon as possible so that you may begin that process. We would hate for you to miss out on the opportunity because you are waiting on your police check!

EQAO Parent Math Night Webinar

On Wednesday, May 13 from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., parents/caregivers of Grade 3 and 6 students are invited to a free live webinar where EQAO staff will discuss math questions that students encounter when they participate in the EQAO assessment. During the webinar, EQAO staff will show how these math questions help assess the skills students are learning in their math classes. Staff will also share valuable insights from EQAO research into assessment results, which can help parents and guardians support their children’s math learning.
