North Park Collegiate student Andrew Song’s remarkable run of chess wins came to an end on Thursday.

A three-time undefeated champion in Grades 9, 10 and 11, the Grade 12 student finally met his match during the high school championship at Pauline Johnson Collegiate.

Despite the loss, Song was still the top Grade 12 student at the tournament. Other winners included North Park Collegiate student Ethan Lu, top Grade 11; Brantford Collegiate Institute student Preston Vickerman, top Grade 10; and Brantford Collegiate Institute student Harshaan Dadiala, top Grade 9.
