As we get into the summer months, I want to take a moment to thank you for your support and excitement as we prepare for the opening of our brand-new school this September. We are so looking forward to beginning this journey together and welcoming you and your children on the first day. Construction and preparations are on schedule, and we’ll be sharing updates to keep you informed as we bring our new learning community to life.

EXCITING NEWS! And our mascot is…

We are excited to announce that our school mascot will be **the heron**! The Grand River is home to many herons, which play an important role in maintaining the balance of a healthy ecosystem. Drawing inspiration from the heron pays tribute to the natural environment we're lucky to share with them. Thank you to everyone who took part in the voting process and for sharing your input. We are thrilled to embrace this new chapter and look forward to showing our Heron Pride together!

At Grand River Public School, we are building more than just a school, we are creating a space where every student is seen, heard, and valued; where diversity is celebrated; and where inclusive and restorative practices shape every student’s experience. What an incredible opportunity lies ahead, and we can’t wait to start this exciting chapter with you.

Wishing you a safe, restful, and joyful summer. See you in September!
