Brantford’s Spencer Walsh remembers being drafted by the Edmonton Elks this past spring, he just doesn’t clearly recall the conversation he had with head coach Mark Kilam.
“I kind of blocked it out when I got drafted,” said the six-foot-three, 295-pound Wilfrid Laurier University offensive tackle, who was selected in the fourth round (32nd overall).
“I didn’t even hear what the coach was telling me. I was just sort of agreeing with everything he said. Then I put the phone down and celebrated with everyone.
“It definitely got emotional.”
