Shanker Self-Reg® Program helps parents and caregivers better understand the stress that can be behind a child’s behaviour and provides practical strategies to support self-regulation and overall well-being. The program consists of ten sessions. Participants will learn how to identify stress signals in children, simple calming techniques, strategies to promote their child’s emotional well-being, and more. The series begins on October 27th.
An optional in-person information meeting will be held tomorrow, October 15th at Agnes Hodge at the start of the School Council Meeting, however you are still able to register if you are unable to attend.
The next school council meeting will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm in our library/learning commons. Please see the information below if you are planning to join virtually.
On Thursday, October 22, our school will participate in Walk for Wenjack to honour Chanie Wenjack and raise awareness about residential schools and Truth and Reconciliation. Students are encouraged to wear purple and will participate in a school-wide walk while learning about Chanie's story.
We are collecting voluntary $2 donations to support the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund, which helps develop educational programs and resources that promote reconciliation.
When planning school trips, it is important to have the total number of students attending the trip determined so that this information and payment can be submitted to the venue and to ensure we meet the board’s supervision ratio of adults to students.
Therefore, for all school trips, parents/caregivers must pay via School Cash Online by the deadline. Any requests or cash payment after the School Cash Online deadline cannot be accepted.
Halloween for Hunger is back at Hodge, and we’re excited to celebrate our sixth year! For those new to Hodge, this is our week-long food drive to support both our school and local community. The event runs Monday, October 26th to Friday, October 30th. These donations will go to support members of our school community as well as The Brantford Food Bank. We appreciate Mrs. Dowling for organizing this great cause for those in need. More details will be shared closer to the date.
