Friday June 9

• The café is open for business! We are offering a walking taco bar! Dorito chips with perfectly seasoned ground beef, topped with a variety of garnishes including lettuce, tomatoes, fresh guacamole, sour cream and Catalina dressing. We also have a variety of cookies and beverages for sale. See you in room 100 during the lunch hour. 
• Last call for next week’s Maker Monday with special host, local indigenous artist, Tradish Nish. Sign up in the library! 

Wednesday June 7

• The Hidden Valley Café is open for business! We are selling delicious chicken Caesar wraps! We also have a variety of cookies, and beverages for sale. See you in room 100 during the lunch hour. 
• Be careful around the Junior Football players. They got tenderized at yesterday’s tournament. They came out a respectable 1-1 and 1 and played well! Turn in any equipment you still have to Mr. Samborski in the Turning Point Office. 
• It is Fun French Fact Day! Just like any language, French has a variety of expressions and sayings that vary by country and region. 
  • Did you know that the saying “To tell Salads!” means to tell a lie?! Or that “To Comb the Giraffe” means to waste time on unnecessary work?! 
  • Come to room 204 at lunch to see if you can match the meanings to some of these unique expressions. Will it be expert knowledge or beginner’s luck for who wins? We will have to see! All are welcome!

Monday June 5 

• The Canadian Mental Health Association of Brant Haldimand Norfolk has a job opportunity available this summer for a summer student to fill a position as a Seasonal Casual Labourer.  The position is based in Simcoe and involves providing general maintenance and lawn care maintenance to agency properties.  The applicant must be actively attending a secondary or post-secondary school full time and must be returning to school in the fall.  You must have a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to work.  If you are interested in this position, please come to the Guidance Office for details.  The deadline to apply if this Friday, June 9th.
