Course Description:This course examines communications systems and design and production processes in the areas of recorded and graphic communications. Students are given the opportunity to develop and apply practical skills to assemble, repair, operate, maintain, and test various systems. Computer literacy and user confidence will be emphasized in all interaction with new software and hardware.Students also study industry standards, regulations, health and safety issues, and explore career opportunities in new and developing technologies. Students will understand the importance of their commitment to lifelong learning, and comprehend the cause and effect of the impact that communications and new technology has on society as a whole and also on their own specfic daily environment. We will explore communications that articulate, challegne, clarify, compare, describe, discuss, engage, explain, express, give reasons, instruct, justify, present, propose, reflect, and respond. |
Elect a CEO, develop a team hierarchy and maintain this team structure. Within this team environment use various office software’s (word, excel, publisher, flash, etc,) develop and present a business plan / concept embellishing each team members attributes.

Earth Day (April 22) is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment. At Tollgate Technological Skills Centre this year there has been a flurry of activities and support, providing positive solutions to assist with Earth Day’s initiatives.
In class we will be viewing environmental visual materials. These will help us to gather information, compile evidence, answer the pertinent questions with hopefully workable solutions for the query “Is there GLOBAL WARMING? If YES, then what are the CAUSES and EFFECTS, and most importantly WHAT can WE DO to STOP, Global Warming?
