The P.R.I.D.E. program is a virtues/citizenship program created to help improve school atmosphere and help discourage apathy. A great strength of the program is it involves all students and is not based on academics and encourages every member to take an active role in making Onondaga-Brant a great place to be!
The following character attributes and valued and focused on throughout the year:
Each moth we will focus our learning and assemblies around one of these attributes. Students will be "caught" doing the attribute. Students who display the attribute in many aspects of the school will have a chance to obtain a P.R.I.D.E. award. At the end of the month, we will celebrate with a whole school activity, where we come together as a community. Some of these activities will be on school property, others will be off of school property. A variety of events and activities are planned to try to appeal to all students. All students will be expected to attend, increasing participation in all aspects of learning.
Should students not be able to display the virtue of the month, contracts will be made with that student to assist them in learning the character attribute. Our goal is that all students will learn and display the character attribute.
- Pride Award of the Month is awarded to the student displaying the attributes
- promotes a positive attitude and unity in the school
- sharing of Happenings in other classrooms
- sharing of information
- Monthly assemblies will feature one or two classes who prepare a presentation based on the attribute of the month.
