The Raider "Family"

The staff and the students at DDSS see themselves as part of the Raider family. We are here to encourage and support each other – and this is a sentiment that we at the school promote and encourage. This sense of family that has developed is a function of our history, our traditions, and our small size. We all know one another and we know each other well. The staff know all of the students – if not by name then certainly by sight. And the students know all the teachers.

Our community supports the school in so many ways.  The DDSS Booster Club is a group of alumni and supporters who raise funds and contribute financially to the school. Local businesses and individuals contribute over $12 000 each year to our student awards program for graduating students. We have countless people, businesses, and groups who contribute to the school each and every day. Also, come on out to many of our events – athletics, drama, and other events, and you will see locals there whose children have long since left DDSS. The ties that people of Delhi develop with DDSS remain long after their children have left the school.

In return, our students are active within the local community. Whether it is Rent-a-Kid day, the 30 Hour Famine, environmental cleanups, coaching at local elementary schools, or participating in local events such as Harvestfest or the Santa Claus Parade, our students are out in the community and are contributing in positive ways to the life in their own community.
