Our geographic location has much to offer. We are within a one-hour commute to large urban centres such as London and Toronto. For water-lovers, Lake Erie and the Grand River are at our door-step and Lakes Ontario and Huron are a short drive away. Available sporting interests include skiing, fishing, golf, curling, competitive hockey, and swimming at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. We are an area with deep historical roots - Alexander Graham Bell Homestead (the birthplace of telephone), Mohawk Chapel, Ruthven Park National Historic Site, and several museums. Cultural centres include the Sanderson Centre for Performing Arts and nature lovers will enjoy visiting Backus Heritage Conservation Area, Long Point peninsula and unique Carolinian forests. The area is home to community college campuses and the Laurier/Nipissing University campus. As well, five universities - McMaster, Western, Wilfrid Laurier, Brock and Waterloo - are within a one-hour drive. Housing is affordable with a good selection of both rural and urban settings to meet all needs.
